India's smartphone exports have reached a record high of Rs 1.5 lakh crore, driven by the government's production-linked incentive (PLI) scheme. The scheme, which was launched in 2020, aims to promote domestic manufacturing and exports of mobile phones and other electronic components.

According to data from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, India's smartphone exports have grown significantly over the past year, with exports reaching Rs 1,45,655 crore in the financial year 2022-23. This represents a growth of over 100% compared to the previous financial year.

The PLI scheme has attracted top global players like Apple and Samsung to manufacture mobile phones in India. These companies have set up manufacturing facilities in India and are producing mobile phones for both domestic consumption and exports.

The growth in smartphone exports is expected to continue in the coming years, driven by the government's efforts to promote domestic manufacturing and exports. The government has set a target of increasing India's electronics exports to $100 billion by 2025.

The growth in smartphone exports is also expected to create new job opportunities in the sector. According to estimates, the electronics manufacturing sector has the potential to create over 10 lakh new jobs in the coming years.

Overall, the growth in smartphone exports is a positive development for India's economy and is expected to contribute significantly to the country's GDP growth in the coming years.
